11/12/2023 0 Comments Moca 2.5 lan![]() It offered networking at up to 2.5 Gbit/s. I have no idea how this would solve this issue, and I tried it using the stock adapters from the Actiontec Adapters and there was no change in iPerf3 performance. MoCA 2.5 included the MoCA Access development, intended for facilities like hotels, hospitals, or other facilities with existing sprawling coax networks. I called ActionTec support today, and he said to replace the BANF 2 way coax splitter that lets 5-2300Mhz pass with one that lets 5-1670Mhz pass so I used the ones that came with the adapters. lan- guage With voco- tional train- Total ing MUNICIPIO SUBDIVISION AND. Connect a second HTEM4 Coax to Ethernet Adapter into any Ethernet device you want to connect to the MoCA network. Plug in the Ethernet cord to your modem, router or access point. 3, Not all the packet length can get 2.5Gbps. if A to B is using 1Gbps bandwidth, then C to D only can use 1.5Gbps bandwidth. For example, there are 4 nodes in the same network, suppose all them have 2.5GbE port. Plug in the power supply to a power outlet. All the MoCA devices are connected to the same coaxial network, so they share the total MoCA bandwidth, about 2.5Gbps for MoCA 2.5. I don't want to used Comcast's Moca 2.0 implementation if it requires taking to modem out of bridged mode for various reasons. Works right out of the box with easy set up: Plug the HTEM4 Coax to Ethernet Adapter in to an active coax cable outlet. I thought that perhaps the XB-7 Modem was reflecting back MoCa signals so I tried installing a POE filter in front of it but all that did was slow down the iPerf3 tests slightly. The problem is that when I run an iPerf3 client on my NVIDIA Shield to a iPerf3 docker on my Synology NAS (see diagram), I only get ~180 Mbps down but the expected ~900 Mbps up! I have no idea why this is. I wasn't sure if this would work, but I saw a similar diagram here. It’s doable, but not without manual configuration of the new LAN MoCA adapters, and not without an impact on the maximum possible throughput of your MoCA networks since neither would have access to all 5 MoCA 2.5 channels. Edit: theyre currently on sale for 99.99 Hitron Bonded MoCA 2.5 Adapter for Ethernet Over Coax (2-Pack) 1 Gbps Ethernet, 2.5 Gbps Over existing Coax Cable Ideal Backbone for Mesh WiFi, Streaming and Gaming 2 HTEM4. Then I connect the router to the Xb-7 Modem's WAN side, and run a line for its LAN side back to the Actiontec MoCa adapter. I was able to set my Hitron adapters up to use a password for Moca authentication so not just any Moca device could join in. This is all outside the house in an external box.įrom reading here, I used a BANF 2 Way coax splitter (2-2300 Mhz) to split the signal in my office (where the cable modem & router reside) to both the cable modem and the MoCa adapter. I replaced the 3-way Commscope splitter with a BAMF 3-Way Coax Cable Splitter Bi-Directional MoCA 5-2300MHz. The POE filter was already installed by Comcast at the demarc point. Instead I'm trying to use Actiontec ECB7520 adapters to get up to MoCa 2.5. The XB-7 has MoCa 2.0 functionality which I turned off (I'm not sure if the XB-7's MoCa functionality works in bridge mode anways). I have a Comcast 1.2 Gigabit internet circuit running to a XB-7 Modem running in bridged mode. This is my first shot at a MoCa installation.
